What We Do
Family Engagement
YEPPNW invests in the family engagement strategy as a way to support student learning intended to mitigate or eliminate systemic barriers for families of color by advocating for the needs of their children inside school systems. There is a lot of research that family support, advocacy, and encouragement help with strong student achievement and outcomes. YEPPNW steps in alongside parents and students to advocate for students' well-being through system navigation and system change.
Mentorship & Leadership
YEPPNW's services are designed to provide positive relationship development and support to students to reduce disproportionate discipline rates and increase attendance. Most importantly, YEPPNW sees the value of providing a strong support system for students of color seeking a sense of belonging at school. This includes providing positive and diverse adult relationships that are reflective of students’ culture and identity.
